In this concert of commissions and premieres, the Bozzini Quartet presents a program recently developed at the November Music Festival in The Netherlands. They bring home gentle and generous music, intricate threads spun together in a distant land, to be unraveled here in Montreal. The precision and inward intensity of the compositions combines with a warmly poetic insight, inspired by images of interweaving lines falling over the audience like morning light, subtle shadings and transformations.

This program epitomizes the sensitivity for which the Bozzini Quartet is known at home and in Europe: as the German periodical Nordwest-Zeitung declares, “the Bozzini Quartet puts a silent, calmly precise, thoughtful and highly intense argumentation against a noisy world.” (May 2010)

The November 29 event also hosts the celebration of the newly released disc, “À chacun sa miniature.” Many of the composers involved in this new album will be present, along with European composers involved in the concert. A meeting of the European and Montreal musical families of the Bozzini Quartet, this event is a place where supporters and collaborators from across oceans meet, share a glass of wine, and share their love of this “argumentation against a noisy world.”
