Transmission

Ensemble Transmission is a collective of six musicians who are independent artists, thinkers and producers: Guy Pelletier, flute; Lori Freedman, clarinet; Alain Giguère, violin; Julie Trudeau, cello; Julien Grégoire, percussion; Brigitte Poulin, piano. Ensemble Transmission plays mostly modern and contemporary music from solo to sextet and the programmes are chosen entirely based on what the members want to play.

Each musician is driven by an innate musical curiosity: each is entirely immersed in the creation, the diffusion and the advancement of contemporary music practice. Transmission also initiates projects that straddle composition and improvisation in the explorative zone where the performance practice itself creates its own music. Transmission radiates a fresh and essential energy, an artistic refuge allowing constant research for and practice of new performance works. This, their contagious force enables them to present projects otherwise impossible to realize.
