A Innovations en concert, Cathédrale Christ Church production.
New is a sensibility. It defines not only the avant-garde, the unfamiliar and the
untried, but also the surprise found in modern sound and music. New signifies emerging
æsthetics and experimentation. New is often playful. New celebrates the intuition that
comes from artists who identify with contemporary forms of expression. New represents
time and its current work. New is an expression of now.
Up to Your Ears is a series that explores all that is new in music. It’s an
anything-can-happen place where you’ll revel in the overlap between all kinds of
contemporary genres: chamber and choral music, improvised music and avant jazz, sound
art and smart pop… and featuring this year the sounds and colours of Olivier Messiaen,
one of the world’s great champions of new.
